Ager Sealer Care
«

After one coat of Ager it still looks like the stone is not completely sealed. The color is darker, but perhaps not completely sealed.
Can a coat of Hydrex be put on after the Ager to help seal it?
Of course, I can use a second Ager coat (and have so far). I would generally seal my coutertops every 6 months. Can I use Hydrex for resealing or do I have to use Ager from now on?
Thank you.

I would do one more coat with the ager. Wipe it on so the stone is wet and allow it to stand for 15 minutes, then buff off the excess with a clean rag.
When you reseal in 6 months just use the Hydrex to go over it PROVIDED the stone still has the darker wet look. If the stone gets lighter that means the Ager has left it and you will need to reseal with Ager instead of Hydrex.
Realistically you should not have to reseal either of them every 6 months unless they come in contact with an alkaline solution, which will remove the sealer from the stone.
Glad to be of service,
Mark

what Mark said. if you seal your counter properly, you shouldnt have to seal it again for at least 5-10 years.
